Medical Qualifications

Professor Ellis George Robert Downes qualified from the University of Leicester in 1989. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He is an Advisor to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and is an invited Speaker at both national and international conferences.

Medical Experience

Prof Downes is a visiting Professor at Middlesex University and is available for private patients at The Portland Hospital for Women and Children where he is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.

Prof Downes has a special interest in Endoscopic (keyhole) Surgery, menstrual problems, urinary incontinence and prolapse.

He performs pelvic ultrasound scanning, where needed, in his consulting rooms which he and his patients find to be convenient. He is happy to have an initial telephone call with overseas patients.
