Medical Qualifications

Dr Dion Alexandrou qualified from Athens University Medical School in 1985. He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (Paediatrics) in 1994 and Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 1999. Dr Alexandrou was awarded an MD from the University of London in 2009, for his research on lung development, and went on to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health later that year.

Medical Experience

Dr Alexandrou has practiced Paediatrics in three different countries in both Europe and North America. He was trained in some of the most prestigious hospitals in the UK, including St Thomas's Hospital in London, St James's University Hospital in Leeds, Bristol Royal Children’s Hospital, Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool, St George's Hospital-Medical School, John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and St Joseph's Medical Centre, University of Western Ontario in Canada. He was appointed Clinical Lecturer in Child Health at St George's Medical School from 1997 to 2002.

Dr Alexandrou is a Member of the British Medical Association, the British Association of Perinatal Medicine, the Neonatal Society UK and the European Society of Paediatric Infectious Disease. He currently works as a Consultant Neonatologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College, London. Dr Alexandrou practises Paediatrics at the Portland Hospital where he is available for private patients.

Dr Alexandrou specialises in Neonatology and early years of life, with emphasis on nutrition and development. He also has a clinical interest in respiratory system problems and infectious diseases in children.
